Inferno Slot Review

Inferno Slot Review

Gamshy has come out with another compelling video slot, this one giving players a new take on hell. Inferno is much more cartoonish than its name would imply, with funny-looking demons and a grim background setting. While this depiction of the inferno is not particularly terrifying, it certainly works well with the slots genre, which makes for an interesting experience. As far as the gaming aspects are concerned, Inferno features 5 reels and 27 individual paylines. Moreover, this title accepts bets large and small, specifically, ranging between $0.20 and $200 per spin.

Symbols and Winning Combinations of Inferno Slot

Winning CombinationsMuch like any other video slot, Inferno has its fair share of symbols. Something interesting to note is that there are no clear-cut categories between the symbols. For instance, it is standard practice in the slots genre for the High Cards symbols to have lower payouts than the high-paying symbols. However, Inferno does things differently, with some High Cards offering better rewards than some character symbols or being on par with them. Therefore, we will not refer to any symbols in this game as low- or high-paying, rather we will separate them by representation.

The first group that we will take a look at are the High Cards and in Inferno, they range from Ten to Ace. In terms of payout, some of these can be profitable under the right circumstances. The Ten and Jack are nothing to write home about, offering only 100 coins for a combination of five with either symbol. The Queen symbol, however, increases the reward to 120 coins for a full line. The King and Ace significantly up the ante by paying 150 and 200 coins, respectively, when you spin 5 of one type on a payline.

There are also five Demon symbols in the game and you will find that they are just as rewarding as the High Cards. The Puffy Demon and the Fat Demon symbols share the same paytable and will pay 100 coins to whoever spins 5 of each on a payline. The Dog Demon does improve the payouts, up to 120 coins for a max sequence. The Spider Demon is the most rewarding of the four, offering 150 coins when you hit 5 on a line.

Along with the basic symbols, we also have the Wild and Scatter. The former has the ability to stand in for basic symbols and complete winning combinations. However, it does not have a paytable of its own. The Scatter also does not pay anything by itself, but it does unlock the bonus rounds that we will discuss in the next point.

Bonus Features of Inferno Slot

Bonus imageOutside of the base game, Inferno comes with several impressive features which can be triggered occasionally. Once this happens, you will notice an immediate effect on the game and hopefully, your bankroll.

The Devil Fire feature can be activated randomly after every spin and when this happens, one of the devils beside the reels will breathe fire on one of them. This will cover the reel with Wild symbols and the game will payout any winning combinations. The feature will work on all reels, except the first.

Of course, few video slots can get by without a good free spins round. Inferno goes out of its way to include two different types. You can trigger free spins by hitting 3 or more Scatters anywhere on the reels, while the game randomly chooses one of two modes – the Devil Mouth or Paradise. Both rounds consist of 10 free spins, however, the difference between the two lies in the details.

The Devil Mouth mode changes the setup of the reels, introducing two additional reels and reducing the number of paylines to 24. Additionally, this round introduces exclusive symbols which allow for x7 combinations. The payouts of these are significantly higher than what the standard set of symbols can provide. Additionally, The Devil’s Tongue feature is available during this round, appearing on the middle reel to cover it in Wilds. The other in-game function is the Polyphemus, which will award you two free spins on a random basis.

Paradise free spins is the other mode and it also features a different set of reels. The game maintains the original 5×3 setup but only includes 23 paylines. This mode offers more special features than its hellish counterpart. First among them is the Wrath of the Lord, which will award you a Respin. Additionally, you may also benefit from the Procreation function, which will turn three random symbols on any of the second, third, or fourth reel into Wilds. Dies Irae is the third bonus feature in this mode and it will offer a random cash prize. Finally, the Moses special feature will double the grid and improve your odds at forming winning combinations. It is important to note that no more than one of these can happen at any time.

Our Verdict

Ultimately, Inferno is interesting, to say the least. This game appears quite basic on the surface, but once you get into its bonus rounds, we see just how complex and detailed it actually is. Rarely, we see a video slot feature with more than one type of free spins, but Inferno subverts this expectation. Not only that, but it makes certain that both modes are their own distinct entities. This enhances the game and makes for a great gaming experience.
