Symbols and Winning Combinations of Alaska Fever Slot

Winning CombinationsAs a sequel to Klondike Fever, Alaska Fever sees the bearded hero make his way to the Alaskan coast in search of riches in those frozen waters. The latest release from Capecod Gaming shares the same 3D cartoon design and attention to detail as its predecessor but with a fishy twist.

The 5×3 grid takes its place in front of a cartoon representation of the Alaskan coast, complete with cloudy skies and a candy-stripe lighthouse. While not the most realistic or detailed, the simplicity of the background is pleasing in itself. The grid takes the form of a snow-capped notice board you would expect to find at a fishing wharf, decked in various ropes, nets, and icicles. Our hero stands to the right side of the screen, at the front of a small rowboat. Wearing the symbolic yellow rain jacket and hat, binoculars in hand he is ready to guide us through whatever may come.

The reels are inhabited by fourteen fishing-related symbols, nine of which are regular, two are wild, two are bonus symbols, and one is the scatter symbol. Fans of Klondike Fever will recognize the inhabitants of two symbols, it would seem that the young man and woman accompanied our hero to Alaska!

The symbols you will find on the reels are:

  • Low worth – Fishing hook, rope knot, seagull, buoys/floats
  • Medium – Old boot, Barrel of fish
  • High worth – Old fisherman (our hero), young man, young woman
  • Wild – Crab, swordfish. This symbol can be substituted for all other symbols, except scatter and other specials.
  • Scatter – Lighthouse with ‘Free Spin’ text
  • Bonus – Fishing boat with ‘Bonus’ text
  • Magic Bonus – Fishing net with ‘Magic’ text

Although Alaska Fever is a high volatility slot with a below-average 95.05% RTP, there are a surprising amount of small wins to keep your spirits up until you catch a big win.

Bonus Features of Alaska Fever Slot

Bonus imageThe special features of Alaska Fever are fairly standard and what you would expect in a slot, with the exception of the bonus fishing game.

The bonus game is triggered by landing 3 or more Bonus symbols on the reels, then you get to go fishing! You are given the choice between three fishing rods and how much you win depends on what you catch, this could be an old soggy boot or delicious seafood.

The free spin feature is one that most slot fans will be familiar with, landing three or more of the lighthouse free spin symbols will award you with up to 20 free spins. A nice touch to this feature is the inclusion of Magic free spins, landing 3 or more Magic net symbols will give you up to ten more spins with a three times multiplier applied to all winnings.

Verdict

Alaska Fever is just as fun and well designed as its predecessor, Klondike Fever. The high volatility and 95.05% RTP might be off-putting to some slot fans, but those who give it a try have the potential to win big.

We had a great time joining the bearded hero for a fishy adventure and can’t wait to see where he’ll lead us next in his American odyssey. Whether you’re a fan of Klondike Fever or not, we recommend taking this slot for a few spins. You might just reel in a big win.
