Symbols and Winning Combinations of A Dark Matter Slot
The symbols in A Dark Matter are quite simple to understand. As is usually the case, they are separated into two categories, based on their function in the game. Most symbols in this game are basic and as such, they are only there to provide you with rewards for completing a winning combination. The basic symbols are further divided based on their payout. The low-paying symbols including five high cards ranging from Ten to Ace. The Ten symbol will pay x50 the line bet for a x5 combination, followed up by the Jack and Queen symbols, both of which reward you with x60 for the full sequence. Then there is the King symbol with its payout of x70 and lastly, the Ace which pays x80.
The other basic symbols all represent a character and offer significantly better payouts than the previous symbols. The Groundskeeper will provide you with a reward of x300 the line bet for a x5 combination, whereas the Young Lady will pay x400. Then, we have the Chief of Police symbol and its payout of x600 the line bet, follow up by the Lady of the Manor, which pays x800. Finally, the Intellectual will provide you with the best payout in the entire game, multiplying your line bet x3,000 whenever you line up five on a payline.
The final two symbols are available in the form of the Wild and Scatter. The Wild is the game’s logo and while it does not pay anything by itself, it will stand in for other symbols on the reels. The Scatter symbol, on the other hand, will pay x15 for three or more of the same symbol and also trigger free spins under certain conditions.

When all is said and done, A Dark Matter is certainly interesting thematically, though not as much gameplaywise. The ability to form winning combinations in both directions is certainly appreciated, however, all other features of this game are not particularly unique or novel. That said, the game is still enjoyable, just do not expect it to offer something not seen before.
