LeoVegas Re-Enters the Dutch Gambling Market with LeoVegas.nl Launch

LeoVegas Re-Enters the Dutch Gambling Market with LeoVegas.nl LaunchLeoVegas Group announced the launch of LeoVegas.nl on October 4, marking its return to the Netherlands’ iGaming sphere. LeoVegas secured a Dutch gaming license this summer, which was granted by the Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), the regulatory entity that oversees gambling within the Netherlands. Dutch gambling enthusiasts will have access to a massive catalog of slots at LeoVegas.nl, along with a wide range of betting markets with competitive odds. In addition, live casino games hosted by dealers who speak Dutch will also entertain Netherlands-based gaming enthusiasts who choose to make LeoVegas.nl their online casino of choice.

CEO of LeoVegas Group, Gustaf Hagman, celebrated the launch, expressing delight in the company’s return to the Dutch iGaming market. According to Hagman, the website will be a “contender for the leader’s jersey” in the country thanks to its platform, LeoVegas’ state-of-the-art content, and the fact that LeoVegas is a famous brand in the Netherlands.

LeoVegas is Familiar to Dutch Casino Enthusiasts

This is not the first time LeoVegas has operated in the Netherlands. However, the group withdrew from the Dutch market on September 30, 2021, following a failure to get a Dutch license before the Netherlands’ online gambling sector became fully regulated in October of that year. Along with LeoVegas, other operators were also forced to cease their operations in the country, and this included the remote gambling company Betsson.

Although there had been talks of the group applying for and gaining a license in the following year, the plans never came to fruition. The group made another attempt at securing a license in 2023, and as a result, LeoVegas was officially granted entry into the online gaming sector of the Netherlands in July. The new license will enable LeoVegas Group to offer casino gaming products to Dutch consumers for five years, and it covers casino titles, live casino gaming, and sports betting.

LeoVegas Group Continues to Expand in Europe and Across the Globe

The Dutch launch is another instance of LeoVegas Group’s continued efforts to expand in Europe. The group received its German license in March, allowing LeoVegas entry into the German iGaming sector. May saw the launch of Expekt.dk, a sports betting website that aimed to capitalize on Denmark’s large sports betting market. The Expekt brand itself is a well-known LeoVegas Group name in Europe’s Nordic region. The latest launch to happen before LeoVegas.nl opened its virtual doors was in August when the establishment of BetMGM.co.uk introduced the brand to the UK’s iGaming audience.

Football club partnerships are another testament to LeoVegas Group’s dedication to the European market. The group announced the signing of a new partnership deal between LeoVegas and F.C. Internazionale Milano in early 2023 for the 2024-2024 season. Other major partnership deals have been made with the teams Manchester City F.C. and Newcastle United F.C. The expansion of LeoVegas’ brand recognition is among the company’s main goals with these deals, and they allow LeoVegas to reach online gambling enthusiasts across the globe.
